Alex Chudá is a visual artist based in Prague, where she studied photography at the Academy of Performing Arts. Her practice is rooted in black and white photography and expands into other media including video, zines, and print. Her visual language is marked by spontaneity.

Central to her work is an ongoing exploration of womanhood as a complex, historically neglected subject. Drawing from her own upbringing in a female-dominated but structurally disadvantaged environment, she interrogates how gendered experience shapes identity, memory, and the body. Her photography has been recognized for its intimate, documentary approach. In 2019, her backstage fashion series was awarded the Slovak Press Photo Award, and in 2023, her performance documentation received the Czech Photo Award. Beyond these themes, she also works extensively with portraiture, dance, and theatre, focusing on embodied presence and emotional immediacy.
